WE HAVE NOW COMPLETED OUR FALL AND OUR WINTER SLATE, WHAT WE CALL OUR FALL AND WINTER SLATE. AND OUR SPRING SPRING SPORTS ARE STILL ONGOING. WE ACTUALLY JUST RAN OUR DISTRICT TRACK MEET LAST WEEK. OUR SPRING SPORTS ARE STILL RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL OF THEIR PARTICIPATION. SO SOME OF THE INFORMATION IS GOING TO BE NOT TOTALLY COMPLETE JUST BECAUSE WE'RE STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THOSE THINGS. WE START, AS ALWAYS, WITH PARTICIPATION TALKING ABOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL PARTICIPATION. AS WE LOOK AT ALL OF OUR SPORTS, THE SPORTS THAT WE OFFER FOR OUR BOYS. WE HAD RIGHT AROUND 430 BOYS IN THE SEVENTH GRADE PARTICIPATING, 428 EIGHTH GRADE BOYS, FOR A TOTAL OF 858 PARTICIPANTS. THAT IS RIGHT ABOUT NORMAL FOR WHERE WE ARE. AT THIS AT AT OUR STAGE IN BOYS ATHLETICS, WHERE WE REALLY MADE A JUMP THIS YEAR IS IN GIRLS ATHLETICS AND OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL. THAT NUMBER, THAT SEVENTH GRADE NUMBER JUMPED ABOUT A, A LITTLE BIT OVER 100 PARTICIPANTS. SO WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT. THAT ACTUALLY BUMPS US ALL THE WAY UP TO 735 GIRLS PARTICIPATING ESPECIALLY. BUT THAT THAT NUMBER JUMPED A LOT IN OUR SEVENTH GRADE, AND WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT. WE HAD A LOT OF PARTICIPATION IN ALL OF THE SPORTS THAT WE OFFERED THERE FOR OUR GIRLS. SO A GREAT GREAT NUMBERS AND GREAT TRENDS THERE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. IF YOU MOVE OVER TO HIGH SCHOOL I HAD TO ACTUALLY SEPARATE THIS OUT. SO WE'LL KIND OF TALK BRIEFLY ABOUT BOTH OUR HIGH SCHOOL ON OUR BOYS SIDE STAYED ABOUT THE SAME OUR, OUR NUMBERS AND ALL OF THE THINGS OUR PARTICIPANTS STAYED AROUND THE SAME, EVEN THOUGH WE, YOU KNOW, WE ACTUALLY DROPPED FROM THREE HIGH SCHOOLS TO TWO. BUT OUR PARTICIPATION STAYED RIGHT AROUND THE SAME NUMBERS THAT WE NORMALLY WOULD HAVE, EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE A COUPLE OF LESS TEAMS THAT WE WOULD HAVE BECAUSE WE MOVED FROM 3 TO 2. OUR BOYS ATHLETICS STAYED RIGHT AROUND 929 PARTICIPANTS, WHICH IS GOOD. AS YOU CAN SEE, WE GET OUR BIGGEST BULK IN THE NINTH GRADE. IT TEARS OFF AS YOU MOVE TOWARDS SENIORS, AND THAT HAPPENS MAINLY BECAUSE YOU KNOW, THEY THEY ENTER INTO OUR CDC PROGRAMS OR THEY, THEY FIND JOBS, THEY DO SOME DIFFERENT THINGS. AND SO THAT'S TYPICAL. THEY'RE LOOKING AT OUR GIRLS PARTICIPATION AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL RIGHT AROUND NORMAL FOR US. EVEN THOUGH WE AGAIN MOVE FROM 3 TO 2, DROP SOME, SOME TEAMS. BUT WE KEPT OUR PARTICIPATION HIGH. WE WERE RIGHT AT 563 GIRLS PARTICIPATING. AND WE'RE HOPING THAT TREND CONTINUES TO GROW. THAT IS ACTUALLY UP FROM LAST YEAR. WE WERE RIGHT. WE WERE RIGHT AROUND 480 LAST YEAR. SO WE'RE UP TO 563 THIS YEAR. AND THAT'S BEEN A REALLY GOOD THING FOR US. WE'VE WE'VE HAD AND SEEN A LOT MORE PARTICIPATION SINCE WE'VE MOVED INTO OUR TWO HIGH SCHOOL MODEL PLAYOFF TEAMS. OUR TEAMS SO FAR ARE THUS FAR THAT HAVE MADE THE PLAYOFFS IN OUR TEAM SPORTS THAT LEGACY BOYS BASKETBALL. THEY WERE DISTRICT CHAMPIONS, BI DISTRICT CHAMPIONS AND AREA CHAMPIONS. OUR GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM WAS A PLAYOFF QUALIFIER. OUR BOYS SOCCER TEAM AT LEGACY WAS DISTRICT CHAMPS AND THE GIRLS SOCCER TEAM WAS A PLAYOFF QUALIFIER. OUR TEAM TENNIS WAS A PLAYOFF QUALIFIER. BOYS BASKETBALL WAS A QUALIFIER. GIRLS BASKETBALL WAS A QUALIFIER. OUR BOYS SOCCER TEAM WAS A QUALIFIER THAT WON BI DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP. AND THEN GIRLS SOCCER WAS DISTRICT CHAMPIONS THERE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN OUR WINTER SPORTS THAT ALL OF OUR TEAMS THAT COMPETED IN THE WINTER SPORTS ACTUALLY WERE PLAYOFF QUALIFIERS. WE WERE THE ONLY ONE IN OUR DISTRICT TO DO THAT. AND THE DISTRICT WE COMPETE IN TO DO THAT BOYS BASKETBALL, GIRLS BASKETBALL, BOYS SOCCER AND GIRLS SOCCER. FIRST TIME OUR INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIERS. GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM MADE IT TO REGIONALS. WE TOOK A LOT OF KIDS TO POWERLIFTING STATE. KINSLEY. ALMANZA, HAILEY. WINN, ABRAHAM. OUR RELAYS QUALIFIED, SO WE'VE GOT A TON OF KIDS AND COACHES GOING TO LUBBOCK FOR THE AREA, MEET ON FRIDAY, HOPING TO ADVANCE TO REGIONALS, AND WE HAVE GOLF THAT FINISHED LAST WEEK AND WE HAVE OUR MEMORIAL BOYS TEAM PLACED SECOND. THEY WILL BE MOVING ON TO REGIONALS AND SOME OTHER INDIVIDUALS AS WELL. EVENTS, TICKET SALES. BUT THE FIVE, A REGION ONE TEAM TENNIS TOURNAMENT WE STILL HOST HERE IN WICHITA FALLS AGAIN CHANGED THEIR PLAYOFF MODEL THIS YEAR. IT BENEFITED US IN SOME WAYS BECAUSE WE GOT SOME STATE SEMIFINAL GAMES, WHICH PUT A LOT OF PEOPLE INTO OUR BUILDINGS. HOWEVER, WE LOST THE REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS. THEY DID AWAY WITH THAT SYSTEM. AND SO THAT WAS WHERE WE WERE GETTING A LOT OF PEOPLE COMING TO WICHITA FALLS. WHENEVER WE TALK ABOUT HOSTED EVENTS WE, WE SOLD AROUND JUST TO THOSE EVENTS RIGHT AROUND 9500 TICKETS HAD AROUND THAT ATTENDANCE. AND THAT'S A DIRECT ECONOMIC IMPACT TO WICHITA FALLS OF RIGHT AROUND $500,000. THAT'S AN APPROXIMATION. WE DO THIS WITH THE CITY, AND THAT'S AN INCREASE IN 9%, AS IF WE WEREN'T HAVING THAT EVENT. AND WE ARE GETTING REAL CLOSE IN THE NEXT MONTH TO MONTH AND A HALF OF HAVING THE FIELD HOUSE BUILDING FINISHED AND ALLOWING ALL OF THAT TO FLOW LIKE WE DESIGNED IT AND HOW WE BUILT IT. AND SO WE ARE IN THE FINAL STAGES OF THAT, AND THERE ARE SOME UPDATED PICTURES FROM THE THINGS THAT THAT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON.
